Too Much Internet
So now I’m posting my thesis work to 1) that blog I’ve had since highschool so my friends can read it 2) my thesis blog so my classmates/advisor can read it (and apparently no one else, because it’s locked now), and 3) this blog, because I know my family reads it (hi mom!) and probably no one else because, really, it’s hardly ever updated, so why bother?
This is ridiculous. But is also seems to be the easiest way to do things.
So, here we go-
Rough pencils of pages 5-20 of chapter one.
And here are rough sketches of pages 7-20 of Chapter Three (I’m gonna start on Chapter Two next week, I’m not very good at doing things in order)
Things came up in critique that will be established in Ch. 2 (now that I’ve got chapters 1-3 pretty much sketched out)
- Death can change size (I’ve been trying to keep him about the size of Marya’s head just to make him visible, but this will resolve the question of how he fit into the egg in the first place, and I can then draw him bigger when he needs to pick things up, and smaller when he needs to fit in places, etc.)
-Death wears gloves and shoes, because he kills whatever he touches (plants, mammals, insects, whatever). Doesn’t want to accidentally kill anything.
-Marya hid the magic glass that would prevent Ivan from dying, so in ch. 2 he’ll get eaten by a bear. She’ll have to deal with the inner conflict of whether or not failure to act constitutes murder….if that makes sense.
-Marya decides to accompany the Death on his journey to find, and kill, his god (Koschey the Deathless).
